Susie and The Singing Tree
The tree was full of twittering
as she cycled slowly past;
smiling, listening, enjoying the symphony.
It became impossible not to stop
and search for birds hiding in branches;
gathering, sheltering, rejoicing.
She herself had just been praising,
it was only natural for them to do the same.

they chirruped, chirped and chorused.
Extraordinary in the ordinary,
and it happens every day at the same time.
